AIR
Heat & Energy Recovery Ventilation
High efficiency ventilation that reduces heat loss while providing constant fresh air is essential for a healthier and more comfortable home.
Discover VETTA's AIR series - HRVs and ERVs engineered by ALNOR Ventilation Systems, an industry leader delivering exceptional quality and innovative solutions for 30 years.
Choosing HRV or ERV
For humid indoor environments, an HRV will help by removing moisture from your home.
For dry indoor environments, an ERV will help by retaining a small portion of moisture leaving your home.
What type of indoor air do you have? Consider the following:
Number of people in the home
An HRV fits the needs of a larger, active family that generates a lot of humidity. The fewer people in the home or in a less active home, the drier the air will be, in which case the ERV may be more suitable.
Age of the home
Older homes tend to have basements with higher humidity and must be ventilated to order to prevent a host of health issues. HRV's do better in these applications by helping keeping humidity low.
Home activities
Homes with a larger number of people or ones with extended shower or bath activity, lots of stove-top cooking, and those homes that have utilities such as spas and saunas would also benefit more from an HRV.
Size & Air Tightness
HRV units are best suited to small or medium-sized homes, where indoor humidity can quickly accumulate and need to be expelled. ERVs can better serve larger, well sealed homes where the air can be drier. However the better the envelope is sealed, the more humidity stays in, making the HRV the way to go.
Type of heating system
In a wood-heated environment, which is more likely to be drier, an ERV will promote a healthier higher humidity level.
Regional climate
ERVs are best suited for very cold and dry climates and HRVs work better in more humid damp climates.
Cost & Humidity Management
An HRV with Humidifier (or) an ERV with dehumidifier is always going to give you the best overall results, and to achieve the actual IAQ (Temperature / Humidity) you want. An HRV in combination with humidifier is the less expensive option, for capital cost and installation.

Features
Construction:
PET Core with expanded polypropylene (EPP) housing is light-weight, airtight, insulated, quiet, non-condensing and corrosion-free.
Electrical:
120 VAC, 60 Hz, 1 Phase.
Mounting:
Can be mounted on the wall or floor. Comes with mounting racks and feet. SlimAir can also be ceiling mounted.
Frost Protection:
Choose an air recirculator for climate zones with prolonged periods below freezing, down to -25ᵒC (-13ᵒF). Sold separately.
For colder / arctic climates, upgrade to a pre-heater to avoid damage and ensure proper functioning of the recovery unit. Sold separately.
For warm climates that have only occasional periods at or just below freezing, frost protection can be achieved by simply reducing the supply fan speed, or alternatively, through the purchase of the above mentioned air recirculation unit.
